Hofstede’s model

The Hofstede model compares certain aspects that are relevant to a culture and compares them to each other. For example of the class our countries to compare are Brazil, as an assigned country and Colombia as country of origin. The Hofstede model has a website that facilitates the comparison between cultures, giving scores for each country depending on certain aspects. The aspects that the Hofstede model analyzes are: difference of powers or inequality, individualism, masculinity, the evacuation of uncertainty, long-term orientation and finally indulgence. The cultures of Colombia and Brazil are very similar because they share many external conditions that make it easier for their inhabitants to develop a certain type of behavior. Both cultures are classified by the Lewis Model as Multi-active cultures, however with the Hofstede model they have more marked differences in aspects such as individualism and long-term orientation. In the other aspects although they do not have same scores, if you see very close results, which allows to conclude that the differences in the other aspects are not so representative. Therefore, these cultures are more aspects in common than those that are not. For example, Colombians are very happy, kind and very expensive like Brazilians.  If a Colombian and a Brazilian meet, the two of them would understand each other greatly because of their spontaneity. Finally as we can see in the graph according to the hofstede both cultures are very similar and come to understand in almost all aspects.
